MANCHESTER CITY toady confirmed that Robert Taylor will complete his move to Maine Road after negotiating his medical.

Taylor is undertaking his medical on Monday and should be training with his Maine Road colleagues on Tuesday.

The 28-year old watched City`s ten match unbeaten run come to an end on Saturday with a 1-0 home defeat by Huddersfield.

Manager Joe Royle quipped "Robert Taylor was in the stand watching the game₻he must be a jinx."

Meanwhile the news that the deal may fall through if Danny Allsopp refuses to go to the Kent club has been scotched by Chief Operating Officer Chris Baird.

"Danny has yet to talk to Gillingham. But whatever happens the deal with Robert Taylor will go ahead. If Danny fails to agree terms it will not jeopardise the transfer. The deal has already been agreed with Gillingham."

Taylor himself had heard of other interested parties including Spurs and Hearts but he set his heart on the Manchester club after hearing of Joe Royle`s interest.

Taylor said "I heard Spurs had come in, along with Watford and Hearts, and it is very flattering. But ever since I discovered Joe Royle wanted me Ive had my eyes on City and no one else."
