Premier League: Daryl Janmaat backing Newcastle to go on good run

Daryl Janmaat believes Newcastle can finish the season strongly after putting the uncertainty caused by Alan Pardew's departure and the transfer window behind them.

Cheick Tiote, Moussa Sissoko and Papiss Cisse were linked with a move away from St James’ Park during January, but all three remain at the club.

Newcastle have also confirmed John Carver will remain in charge of the team for the rest of the campaign, and Janmaat is confident they can now build on the 3-0 victory at Hull last weekend.

The Dutch full-back told the Chronicle: "We can put our minds at rest now. We know what we have here and who is the head coach. That's better for the team.

"We hope to put a run together now after Hull. A run like before Christmas is what we are hoping for. If we can get that we can finish in the season in good fashion.

"The top 10 is the main target we have to reach. Stoke is a good game for us at home then Crystal Palace away. They are good games to take some points."
