Frank de Boer's agent has told Sky Sports News HQ the Ajax manager will not leave his post this season despite reported interest from Newcastle.

De Boer has emerged as the bookmakers’ favourite to replace Alan Pardew, should he leave St James' Park for Crystal Palace.

But the Dutchman's representative Guido Albers insists no contact has been made between his client and any club.

“Frank will never leave Ajax during this season.” he said. "There has been no contact to myself, or Ajax, from another club for Frank. We have received no approach at this stage.”

Pardew is currently odds-on with Sky Bet to replace Neil Warnock following the former Sheffield United manager's dismissal last Saturday.

Speculation over Pardew's future has intensified since he failed to attend the post-match press conference following Newcastle's 3-2 home win over Everton on Sunday.

Former Palace manager Tony Pulis and Hull boss Steve Bruce have also been linked with Newcastle if Pardew, who made 100 appearances during a four-year spell with Palace, calls time on the club after four years in charge.

Former Ajax and Barcelona defender de Boer was linked with the Tottenham job earlier this year but said he would only talk to the Londoners at the end of the season. At the time he also described Tottenham and Newcastle United as 'sleeping giants'.
