Port Vale have completed the signing of Newcastle teenager Remie Streete on a one-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old defender arrives in time to go straight into the Vale squad to face Yeovil this weekend, in what could be a professional debut for Streete. Despite being at St James' Park for four years, Streete has yet to make a first-team appearance but has impressed in the under-21s, which convinced interim manager Rob Page to secure his services. Speaking to the club's official website, Page said: "Myself and the chairman watched him against Arsenal and obviously he has been in and amongst Newcastle's first team. "They think a lot of him there, we were impressed with what we saw at the game and we feel that if we can get players of his ability and quality in and amongst the lads then it can only benefit the boys we've already got here."
