Siem de Jong feels he would be 'foolish' to leave Ajax after breaking into the first team last season.

Young forward happy to remain in Amsterdam for next few years

Siem de Jong feels he would be 'foolish' to leave Ajax after breaking into the Eredivisie champions' first team last season. The forward recently penned a new two-year deal at the Dutch club to keep him in Amsterdam until 2015. And the 22-year-old, who scored 12 goals in 32 games for the Godenzonen last term, insists he has not thought of leaving to continue his development elsewhere. "Last season was the first time that I played in the first team. It would be foolish to then immediately leave," he told Voetbal Primeur. "Selection is different now that I've shown what I can do for Ajax. "I'm only 22 years old, for me it's good that I have a few years stay at Ajax."
