Spaniard not in Hughton's plans

Newcastle boss Chris Hughton has confirmed the club will look to sell Spanish misfit Xisco this summer. Xisco, who was controversially signed by former Magpies executive director Dennis Wise in 2008, has failed to make an impact at St James' Park. The 23-year-old is currently on loan at Racing Santander and Hughton admits he does not figure in his plans as he prepares for a return to the Premier League next term. "He's a player we were prepared to let go a year ago," Hughton told The Journal. "I don't see much has changed since then. "We'll see whether he wants to remain in Spain. He's contracted to us, so if he did come back he'd be a Newcastle player and we'd judge him on the merits of what we saw."
