Newcastle's latest arrival Xisco admits Fabricio Coloccini played a big part in his decision to join the club.
The striker moved to St James' Park on transfer deadline day, but not before speaking to his former Deportivo La Coruna team-mate about life on Tyneside.
Coloccini had left Spain for England over the summer and is clearly smitten with his new surroundings after selling the club to Xisco.
"I spoke with Colo and he told me all about the club and the city," the Spain Under 21 international told the club's official website.
"He said it was a great place and that it would make him very happy if I joined him at Newcastle."
Settle
Xisco joins the growing ranks of Spanish speaking players at Newcastle, a situation he admits will help him adapt to life in the North East.
"Of course I know Colo and also Jose Enrique from Spain U21," he added.
"There are also other Spanish speakers and that will be a big help to begin with.
"But I want to work on my English and learn the language within the first few months.
"That is important because I will be able to get to know all of my team-mates and also settle in the area."
