Newcastle defender Steven Taylor is confident he will be fit for this weekend's clash with Bolton.
Taylor was forced to pull out of the England Under 21 squad to face Slovenia on Tuesday after picking up an ankle injury in last weekend's draw at Manchester United.
The 22-year-old has allayed fears over the injury and says he will recover in time to tackle Bolton at St James' Park.
Risky"I immediately saw the England club doctor and, after he had examined my ankle, we both agreed that it would be too risky to play against Slovenia," Taylor told the club's official website.
"I left the England camp at 9am yesterday morning and was driven straight to the Newcastle training ground.
"I had a scan on my ankle and there is nothing broken or anything like that, and I should be back in training in the next couple of days.
"I will be ready for Saturday's match with Bolton - if selected."
