Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce is on the verge of completing the signing of Swindon starlet Ben Tozer, but is expected to let him leave on loan.
The 17-year-old defender is highly rated by the Robins and the deal is expected to net the League One club an eventual £1million.
However, Allardyce - who has also been linked with a move for Zalaegerszeg teenage defender Tamas Kadar - is keen for Tozer to gain first team experience at lower league level.
It is reported that a number of Championship clubs have already contacted St James' Park regarding a loan deal for Tozer and Allardyce admits he would be keen on a temporary move.
"He is only 17 and he is obviously one for the future," Allardyce told The Sun. "And, yes, there is a possibility Ben will be allowed to go out on loan.
"But first we want him to stay here for two or three weeks so that we can look and him and he can look at us."
