Norwich City have been dealt an injury blow with the news Adam Drury will be sidelined for a number of months.
The left-back has had an operation on his right knee to repair ligament damage and will now need an extended period of rehabilitation.
New Canaries chief Glenn Roeder has confirmed the extent of the injury, lamenting the fact he has lost an important player so soon into his tenure.
"Unfortunately he had to have the operation on his knee and that will keep him out for a number of months, so that's a real big loss to us because he's a vital member of the team," Roeder told the club's official website.
Meanwhile, Newcastle coach Lee Clark has been given permission to speak to Norwich with regards a possible position at Carrow Road.
Clark worked under Roeder during his time at the St James' Park helm and it now looks as though the pair could be reunited at the Championship club.
