Ajax have confirmed they have reached agreement with Newcastle for the transfer of Albert Luque.
Newcastle striker Albert Luque is set to join Ajax after the two clubs agreed a deal. The 29-year-old Spaniard has endured a miserable spell on Tyneside since his £9million move from Deportivo La Coruna two years ago. He will join the Amsterdam club for an undisclosed fee, having already agreed personal terms on a three-year contract. An Ajax statement read: "The striker will today sign his contract at Ajax, which runs until June 30, 2010."
