Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce has dismissed speculation that Obafemi Martins is set to leave the club.
The striker scored 17 goals for Newcastle last year and he has already hit the back of the net twice this season to reportedly spark interest from a number of clubs both in the Premier League and abroad.
Newcastle signed Martins from Internazionale for £10million and he has a release clause in his current St James's Park contract which would allow him to leave the club should an agreed asking price be met.
However, Allardyce insists he has yet to have contact from any club regarding a possible transfer for the 22-year-old forward.
"There has been speculation about Obafemi Martins every week since I have been at Newcastle and he is still here," Allardyce told Sky Sports News.
"I've had no contact from any football club either in this country or any other country regarding wanting to activate the clause in his contract.
"From that point of view he is still a Newcastle United player.
"The only way he wouldn't be a Newcastle United player is if someone activates that clause and nobody has."
