Nicholls completes Leeds move

Leeds United have completed the signing of Luton Town striker Kevin Nicholls.

Leeds United have completed the signing of Luton Town striker Kevin Nicholls.

The 27-year-old completed his medical before signing a four-year contract with The Whites, with both clubs having concurred on a fee of £700,000 for the midfielder.

The former Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic man becomes the second Luton player to depart Kenilworth Road in recent days, with striker Steve Howard heading to Championship rivals Derby County for £1 million.

Leeds' search for new faces continues, with Elland Road boss Kevin Blackwell opting to extend the trial of French striker Dembele Garra.

The France Under-20 international is on the books at Ligue 1 club Auxerre and recently trained with Premiership side Newcastle United.

One player set to leave Leeds is goalkeeper Ian Bennett, as he looks set to join Rob Hulse in moving to Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United.

The former Birmingham City custodian is expected to join The Blades for an undisclosed fee after failing to dislodge Whites number one Neil Sullivan last season.

The 34-year-old is set to follow Hulse's switch to Bramall Lane, with the striker completing a £2.2 million move to The Blades this week.
