Che bag Newcastle ace

Liga outfit Valencia have secured Hugo Viana's services from Newcastle United on a year-long loan.

The Portugal international, a £8.5 million capture in 2002, spent last season with former club Sporting Lisbon.

Viana has been told he has no future at St James' Park and the club have to been trying to sell the 22-year-old this summer.

However, with no clubs offering a suitable package for the skilful playmaker, The Magpies have been forced to accept another loan deal.

Valencia recently lost the services of Edu to a long-term injury and the Mestalla outfit have moved quickly to bolster their midfield options.

"Viana is a perfect candidate for Valencia," said club director Javier Subirats. "The negotiations were quick and have now finished."

Should Viana impress with the Liga outfit, the club have the option of securing his services permanently for an undisclosed fee.
