Chris Coleman has warned the Premiership predators that Fulham are not an easy touch.

The Fulham boss is fighting to hang on to several key players following a summer which has already seen Edwin van der Sar and Andy Cole leave Craven Cottage.

Newcastle United have been chasing Luis Boa Morte, while Manchester City have been knocked back in a bid for Steed Malbranque.

Coleman is anxious to retain the services of his current squad and is actively trying to add to his numbers before the start of the season.

The Welshman is aware of the interest in his players but he insists the club will not succumb to the overtures from elsewhere.

"It's always difficult to get players in, especially at this time when nobody wants to lose their best players, not with a week to go before the start of the season," Coleman told Sky Sports News.

"For some reason, maybe people think Fulham are an easy touch.

"I can assure you we're not. We don't want to sell any of our players.

"I'm looking forward to the season and starting it with my best players."
