Emre to sign 'on Friday'

Newcastle boss Graeme Souness expects to complete the signing of Turkish star Emre Belozoglu on Friday, after the Internazionale midfielder returned to Milan following a medical on Tyneside.
The Magpies have been actively pursuing the 24-year-old for some time as they look to further add to their squad after the purchase of Scott Parker, and a deal should now be wrapped up within the next few days.
Emre has chosen to snub interest from his home land in the form of Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, and Souness believes that the star will prove to be a revelation at St. James' Park when he finalises the deal to become a Newcastle player.
"We've agreed everything, we expect him to sign on Friday," Souness told Sky Sports News.
"He's got to go back to Milan to sort a few things out, but everybody's happy and hopefully we will get him signed on Friday.
"He's much admired in Italy and he's the biggest star in his home country, he's a midfield player and the kind of player I like so he will be a big success here I'm sure.
"He's not the biggest guy in the world but he is extremely tenacious, fantastic ability on the ball, fantastic enthusiasm and he'll just be a good all round player for us, a great player to have."
Souness is desperate for reinforcements after overseeing a substantial summer exodus at Newcastle, with a defender and striker still a priority for the Scot.
However his pre-season plans have been dealt a blow with the news that Titus Bramble will be out for around three months due to sustaining a broken elbow - a turn of events that Souness lamented.
"That's an enormous blow for us, Titus has been a big player for us in the second part of the season last season and we will miss him," Souness continued.
"You know he's done really, really well, he's worked hard on his fitness, hard on his concentration and we will miss him, so it's a blow but these things happen in football."
