A trio of First Division clubs are aiming to hand Newcastle United midfielder Bradley Orr his first taste of professional football.

Orr is captain of Newcastle's reserve side but has yet to make the leap in to Bobby Robson's first-team plans.

The youngster is out of contract at the end of the season and The Magpies are keen to hand Orr some experience before deciding whether to renew his deal.

He is expected to be shipped out on loan this week with Burnley, Bradford City and Rotherham United believed to be chasing his services.

Burnley enquired about the 21-year-old at the start of the season while Rotherham are thought to have watched Orr against Everton's reserves on Monday evening.

The two sides, along with Bradford, are all keen to strengthen their respective midfields and Orr could be the ideal recruit.

Ipswich, Nottingham Forest, Sunderland and Wigan Athletic have all previously been credited with an interest in the hard-working Orr.
