Hornets tracking Chopra

NEWCASTLE UNITED boss Sir Bobby Robson has revealed he has been inundated with offers to take striker Michael Chopra on loan for the remainder of the season.

Watford boss Ray Lewington is looking to strengthen his FA Cup semi-final squad and he seems to be heading the race at the moment.

With the transfer deadline on Thursday, The Magpies have four days to decide whether to let the youngster secure experience of first-team football elsewhere, or let him play in their reserves.

Robson said: "A number of clubs are interested in taking Michael on loan and Watford are one of them.

"We have a few days to consider what to do for the best and we do not feel under pressure to make a decision just yet."

The 19-year-old is extremely highly-rated at St James` Park, and Robson may think it wise to let the youngster play first-team football for the remainder of the season.
