Guy signs Magpies deal

PROMISING young striker Lewis Guy has signed a professional contract that ties him to Newcastle until the summer of 2005.

The striker has made a deep impression at St James` Park, netting a glut of goals for the Under-17s.

Guy is expected to play a key role for the reserves this term, although he is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.

He should soon be back in action, and reserve-team boss Tommy Craig is sure to give him a prominent role in the coming months.

In other news, Nikos Dabizas has shrugged off the injury that threatened his participation in Greece`s Euro 2004 qualifier, and should line-up in the team to face Spain in Athens.
