Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph missed England training on Thursday due to a 'minor knock' picked up in last week's FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal.

But the 25-year-old is expected to be fit for Sunday's friendly with the Republic of Ireland, according to the FA.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana was the only other absentee at St George's Park after being allowed more time at home following the birth of his second child.

This means that manager Roy Hodgson has a fully-fit squad to choose from for the friendly in Dublin on June 7.

James Milner was among those preparing for the game following the news that he has agreed to join Liverpool on a free transfer, subject to a medical.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere was also involved, despite being charged with misconduct by the FA on Wednesday following his anti-Tottenham chants during last week's FA Cup victory parade.

Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and QPR’s Charlie Austin - two of three uncapped players in the squad - will face the media in a press conference later on Thursday.

Former Fleetwood striker Vardy scored four goals for Leicester in his first season in the Premier League, while Austin's 17 goals for QPR were not enough to save them from relegation.

Hodgson was unable to select Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge due to injury, and Tottenham's Harry Kane was included in the England U21 squad for the European Championship in the Czech Republic this month.

Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was also left out because of fitness concerns.

England have won seven of their last eight games, and they head to Dublin for the return fixture from the 1-1 draw in 2013 as part of the FA's 150th anniversary celebrations.

Hodgson's team will face Slovenia in a European Qualifier in Ljubljana a week later on June 14, with England currently leading Group E by six points.
