Premier League: Aston Villa fined £60,000 by FA over Leicester incident

Ciaran Clark #6 of Aston Villa and Matthew James of Leicester City clash following a rash tackle on Jores Okore

The Football Association has fined Aston Villa £60,000 and warned them as to their future conduct following an incident in their game against Leicester earlier this month.

Villa admitted failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from proactive behaviour in their 1-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium on January 10.

In time added on, Leicester midfielder Matty James received a straight red card for a challenge on Villa's Jores Okore.

The tackle sparked a mass brawl which ended with visiting defender Ciaran Clark also being sent off after picking up a second yellow card.

Last Friday, the FA fined Leicester £20,000 for their part in the incident.

Villa's fine is the third picked up by Paul Lambert's side this season after they admitted failing to control their players in matches against Tottenham and Manchester United.
