Barry Bannan says Aston Villa are not worried about the threat of relegation but do need to improve during the final few weeks of the season.
While some of the teams towards the bottom of the table have started to pick up important wins, Villa have endured a dismal run of form to slip towards trouble.
They still have a five-point cushion over the drop zone but Bannan is determined to help get things back on track as quickly as possible to avoid an anxious end to the campaign.
The midfielder is targeting victory over Liverpool on Saturday and then another three points against Stoke to move into mid-table.
"Everybody is unhappy with the position we're in and the players are pulling hard with the gaffer to try and put things right," he said in the
Daily Record.
Working hard
"There are plenty of games to come and, starting with Liverpool on Saturday, we want to begin improving.
"The positivity from the gaffer is rubbing on to the players. Relegation is being mentioned in the papers but we haven't spoken about that once.
"We are just trying to work our way up as we know the quality we have in the squad.
"After Liverpool we have Stoke on Monday so that's six points we feel we can get over the next two games."
