Aston Villa youngster Daniel Johnson has signed a new contract to keep him at the club until June 2013.
The 19-year-old midfielder is regarded as an exciting prospect for the future after making a great deal of progress over the past couple of years.
Having joined Villa's academy from Crystal Palace, he shone for the youth team in 2010-11 and has continued to make strides this season.
Johnson has impressed for the reserves and also scored three times in Villa's NextGen Series European campaign.
He has been called into the first-team set-up for a number of games and will now have the chance to further catch the eye of manager Alex McLeish over the next 15 months.
