Villa ace urges team-mates to stand up and be counted
Gabriel Agbonlahor has issued a rallying call ahead of Fulham's visit on Saturday as Aston Villa bid to avoid an unwelcome record.
Alex McLeish's side have gone seven league matches without a home win and, should they fail to beat Fulham at Villa Park, it will be their worst top-flight run without a home success.
As well as failing to win at home, Villa have also not tasted success in six attempts in all competitions, the latest a 1-1 draw at Blackburn in which Charles N'Zogbia scored.
Agbonlahor wants his team-mates to follow N'Zogbia's example as they bid for a morale-boosting win.
Stand up
He told the Express & Star: "People have got to stand up and be counted.
"For example, Charles N'Zogbia was excellent at Blackburn and he was man of the match for me in that game. That is what we need.
"When I first got into the side, I was a young lad but now, being one of the older players, you need to take on the responsibility."
