Rowe, Bevan, Bennett, Cain and Hawes all hoping to impress

Port Vale took the opportunity to have a look at five trialists during a reserve fixture on Wednesday. The quintet were all given an opportunity to shine in a comfortable 4-1 victory over Walsall. Birmingham defender Jacob Rowe, Aston Villa goalkeeper Dave Bevan, Wolves winger Kyle Bennett, Coventry winger Ashley Cain and Hucknall Town defender Adrian Hawes all started what was the club's penultimate reserve game of the season. The Saddlers took an early lead in the second string contest, but Bennett levelled matters for Vale. Andrew Siribour and Sam Morsy then put the Valiants in complete control of the tie, before Rowe completed the rout. All five men will be hoping to have done enough to catch Micky Adams' eye, as he begins to put plans in place for next season.
