Bees bring in Villa striker

Williams joins on loan following injury to Elder

Brentford have snapped up Aston Villa striker Sam Williams on a month-long loan deal. The League Two leaders have moved for Williams after Nathan Elder was ruled out for the season after suffering an horrific injury at Rotherham United on Saturday. Elder has a double fracture of the cheekbone, and a fractured eye socket, with Bees boss Andy Scott revealing the forward is unlikely to have vision in his left eye for several months. Scott has compensated for Elder's absence by acting quickly to bring in Williams, who has already had spells on loan at Colchester United and Walsall this season. Williams will initially stay at Griffin Park until 5th April and is expected to be in the Brentford squad for Tuesday's game against Barnet.
