Queens Park Rangers are set to beat Championship rivals Cardiff to the signing of Wayne Routledge, skysports.com understands.
Routledge is currently on loan at Cardiff after joining the club from Aston Villa in November.
The 23-year-old has impressed at Ninian Park, scoring twice in nine appearances, and the Bluebirds have expressed an interest in making the deal permanent.
Villa are willing to let Routledge move as he has failed to establish himself in Martin O'Neill's plans since his arrival from Tottenham last January.
Cardiff have opened talks with Villa over a deal for Routledge, but Rangers are ready to outbid them to land the former Crystal Palace man.
Rangers boss Paolo Sousa is keen to bolster his squad in the transfer window and he has identified Routledge as the man to help their bid for promotion.
