Villa boss considers recalling Dane

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has not ruled out recalling keeper Thomas Sorensen for Sunday's Premier League clash with lowly Bolton. The Danish international has not made a Premier League appearance this season but could get the nod in goal ahead of current No.2 Stuart Taylor for the trip to the Reebok Stadium. O'Neill is faced with the dilemma with Liverpool loan signing Scott Carson suspended following his dismissal in the 4-1 home defeat to Manchester United.

Clean sheet

Taylor replaced Carson for the final third against the champions, while Sorensen played for Denmark last week and also kept a clean sheet as Villa's reserve team cruised to a 6-0 victory over Chelsea on Monday. The Villa boss told the club's official website: "Stuart has been No.2 because Thomas got injured in pre-season and now he's fit. "He played on Monday night for the reserves. He played for his country last week. "Countering that, Stuart came on last Saturday and did well.

Availability

"With three keepers we've had people enquiring about the availability of players, but now we've only got two." O'Neill admits he has still not decided who will start against Bolton and will weigh up his options on Thursday.
