Benfica have insisted that Nuno Gomes remains in their plans for the new season.
Gomes had been the subject of summer-long transfer speculation and several English sides are reportedly interested in the services of the Portuguese ace.
Middlesbrough, Aston Villa and Manchester City have all been rumoured to be considering a move for Gomes, but Benfica have now rubbished speculation.
"I know perfectly about Nuno," Benfica manager Jose Antonio Camacho told the Portuguese media.
"He is the perfect player for our attack. I personally want continuity and this is promised by the club president."
Gomes, who is believed to be interested in a move to the Premier League, has declined to comment on the subject.
