Birmingham City have confirmed the signing of Aston Villa's Liam Ridgewell. The 23-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at St Andrews after completing his medical. Birmingham will pay £3million to their Second City rivals for the young defender. The signing of Ridgewell is the second defensive recruit in 24 hours for Steve Bruce, after Franck Queudrue finalised his move earlier on Friday. "I am looking forward to working with Steve. He is a good manager and he has done a lot in his career as a centre half, so that's a lot to look up to," he told the club's website. "Playing for so many years at Manchester United you can't go wrong and I'm sure I'll learn a lot of him because I am still young and making my way in the game."
