Dennis Rommedahl and Martin Laursen have been forced to withdraw from Denmark's squad because of injury.
The pair were expected to feature for Morten Olsen's men in a friendly against Czech Republic next week but have been ruled out after picking up knocks in midweek.
Rommedahl damaged his groin playing for Charlton against Manchester City last week, while Laursen limped out of Aston Villa's game against Chelsea with a knee injury.
Laursen's misfortune has given West Brom defender Martin Albrechtsen the chance to force his way back onto the international scene.
Albrechtsen will bid to win his first cap since 2003 after being called up as a late replacement for the Villa stopper.
Olsen has opted not to replace Rommedahl, meaning he will only have 18 players at his disposal in Prague.
