Aston Villa are hopeful that midfielder Steven Davis will be back playing again this season.
The Northern Ireland international damaged his hamstring during the win over midlands rivals Birmingham City and was expected to miss the season run-in.
However, the injury is not as serious as first thought and the 21-year-old could be available for selection before the end of the season.
"Initially we feared the worst, that it might be a pulled hamstring, but it looks like it is only a strain," said Villa assistant manager Roy Aitken.
"We're going to get it looked at now it has settled down and I don't think he'll be out for the season."
