David Dunn has taken a major step on the road to recovery by completing 45 minutes in a Birmingham reserve team match.
Dunn is attempting to make yet another comeback, after a succession of false dawns caused by a persistent hamstring injury.
However, after extensive work on the problem, the creative midfielder is now hoping to put his nightmare behind him, making a positive start with a full half against Everton reserves.
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that the former Blackburn man will feature in the big midlands derby with Aston Villa on Sunday, as Steve Bruce continues to look at the bigger picture regarding the player's fitness.
On a brighter note, Neil Kilkenny will be available for Blues after completing the suspension picked up for his red card in the clash with Liverpool.
