Nolberto Solano has blamed his strained relationship with Sir Bobby Robson for his exit from Newcastle United. The Peruvian star was settled at St James' Park before falling out of favour under the former England boss and joining Aston Villa in January 2004.
Solano is now back with The Magpies after joining in the transfer window, but the 30-year-old still wishes Robson had spoken to him more before he left.
"It was a big wrench to leave Newcastle, so it is fantastic to be back," said Solano. "My relationship with Robson was difficult in the end.
"He changed his mind about me and I was not very happy with the decision he made to sell me. Bobby did not play me and did not tell me why.
