David O'Leary has warned Juan Pablo Angel to find his scoring boots again.Aston Villa boss David O'Leary has warned Juan Pablo Angel to find his scoring boots again.
O'Leary has challenged the Colombian to fire Villa to a flying finish in The Premiership.
Angel has struggled to recapture his form of last season this time around, and O'Leary believes it is time he lived up to his price tag.
"We've been struggling for goals all season - and the fact Angel has only scored five in the Premiership has made life harder for us," lamented O'Leary.
"Last time, he managed more than 20 goals. Maybe it's the expectation of having to do that again which has affected him.
"Every forward lacks a bit of confidence when they don't score goals but Angel is our main man and he didn't come cheap.
"He cost this club more than £9 million and, for that sort of money, we're entitled to look for a better goal ratio than he's got this season."
Meanwhile, Thomas Hitzlsperger fears he may be priced out of a new deal at Villa Park.
Villa are hoping to keep the German international at the club, but as yet no agreement has been reached.
Hitzlsperger believes his future will come down to a question of money.
"If it is going to cost astronomical money I don't think the club will do that," said Hitzlsperger.
