The French midfielder moved to Villa Park in the summer for £2 million after a prolonged chase by David O'Leary.
However, it took Berson four months before he made his first team debut.
"I feel okay at Villa. Sure, my English is not too good and I don't understand everything," said Berson.
"I am happy at the club, now I am getting used to life in England.
"There was a time when I might have asked to move, because I came here six months ago and I have tried to do my best."
Berson, though, admits he could still be tempted to leave if he is not given an extended run in the first team.
"If the manager decides it is better for me to leave then I will try to find another team. But my first choice is Villa," he said.
"I want to stay here and play for the team I wanted to join in the summer.
"Sometimes, though, you have to think about your future as I want to play.
"I like Birmingham. It's a big place, I have my girlfriend here and we can find everything we want.
"But it was frustrating to have to wait to play for Villa. I think I needed time to learn about English football and the players at Villa.
"The English game is different from France. Here the football is more direct and quicker - the pace is higher. Also, the players are much stronger.
"Teams are maybe better tactically, but individually the style of play takes a little getting used to. The next few months will be very important for me. I have to prove myself at Villa and help them - that's the only thing on my mind."
