Thomas Hitzlsperger has vowed to win his place in David O'Leary's first team plans.Aston Villa ace Thomas Hitzlsperger has vowed to win his place in David O'Leary's first team plans.
The German midfielder has been dropped to the bench for the last three games after starting the season as a regular.
Hitzlsperger is ready to fight for his place and prove he deserves to be in the starting XI.
"The manager has explained to me why I have been out of the team. I'm not happy to be out of the starting line-up but I won't be sulking," said Hitzlsperger.
"I am still learning and maturing as a player. The manager knows that and so do I, so I will fight for my place.
"What I aim to do now is force my way back into the starting line-up and make it impossible for the manager to drop me again.
"It is a challenge but I am up to it. I'll work hard, I'll stay behind after training if I need to and I'll earn my chance again."
