Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Nicky Hofs is reported to be attracting admiring glances from The Premiership.

The midfielder is rated highly in De Eredivisie and has secured international honours for the Dutch Under-21 side.

His efforts have led to interest from Aston Villa who have had him watched on a couple of occasions this season.

A Villa delegation took in the Dutch Under-21 game with Czech Republic as well as Friday's clash between Vitesse and ADO Den Haag.

Villa are seemingly aware that Hofs' present contract expires next summer and could well attempt to step in for the midfielder early next year.

Vitesse are still in financial difficulties, but would be loath to lose their key midfielder and are planning talks in the near future.

Hofs may well strike a new contract with his present club, in a bid to make sure they can secure a fee for his services.

A move to The Premiership may well appeal to Hofs, but it is believed that PSV Eindhoven are keen to keep him in De Eredivisie and may lodge a rival bid for the talented midfielder.
