Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer is delighted with the start on-loan West Ham defender Doneil Henry has made to life at Ewood Park.

Henry, 21, has starred in two Rovers victories against Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton since moving to Ewood Park. slotting in seamlessly next to Matt Kilgallon at the heart of the back four.

Henry dealt with former Liverpool and England striker Emile Heskey in his second appearance for the club on Wednesday night and later produced the header which Jordan Rhodes diverted into the goal for Blackburn's stoppage-time winner.

"Young Doneil Henry came in and gave an unbelieveable performance," said Bowyer.

"He was against a very experienced striker in Emile Heskey. The lad's had a real baptism of fire in terms of the two strikers he's played against - (Atdhe) Nuhiu at Sheffield Wednesday and Heskey.

"He's stood up to both of them, I'm full of admiration for the kid; he's done ever so well."
