Sky Bet Championship: Paul Robinson targeting recall at Blackburn

Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson is back to fitness and eager to win his place back in Gary Bowyer's starting line-up.

Robinson started the season as No.1 keeper at Ewood Park, figuring in the opening seven games in the campaign, but he has not played since the defeat to Derby on September 17th due to injury.

The former England international picked up a knee problem ruling him out of the trip to Fulham, allowing loan signing Jason Steele the chance to come into the starting XI.

Steele has now started Rovers' last seven games and has helped them go on an unbeaten five-game run, including three successive wins to lift them up to seventh spot in the table.

Robinson, who has played 202 games for Rovers since joining from Tottenham for £3.5million in the summer of 2008, is now fully recovered from injury.

The 35-year-old is getting frustrated at his recent lack of playing time, as Bowyer is reluctant to make changes to a winning side at the moment.

It means Robinson finds himself a frustrated spectator on the sidelines and the experienced keeper is eager to be playing regularly.
