Sky Sports understands that former Sunderland defender Matt Kilgallon has agreed a deal to join Blackburn Rovers.
The 29-year-old has agreed personal terms and passed a medical at Ewood Park after leaving Sunderland earlier this summer.
Kilgallon is thought to have accepted a two-year deal to become Gary Bowyer's latest signing of the summer.
Kilgallon spent three years at the Stadium of Light, but struggled with injury and found first-team opportunities hard to come by as a result.
Bowyer has been busy in the transfer market and Kilgallon's signing follows hot on the heels of DJ Campbell's return to Ewood Park earlier this week.
