Portsmouth manager still keen to add to his squad

Michael Appleton is weighing up whether to take another look at Amine Linganzi after the Blackburn Rovers midfielder trained with Portsmouth. Sky Sports revealed last week that Pompey boss Appleton was considering a move for Linganzi, who is out of favour at Ewood Park. Appleton is aiming to strengthen his threadbare squad, but concedes he is not currently in a position to make new signings. "We definitely need to get some players in, although I'm not sure if I can," said Appleton in The News. "He (Linganzi) has been on trial with some other French lads. Whether we'll get him in and have another look I don't know. "We aren't able to do anything at the moment, though. I have to be patient and see what next week brings." Linganzi joined Blackburn in January 2010, but the 22-year-old has made just four first-team appearances for the club. He has not featured for Rovers in over 18 months and took in a loan spell at Preston North End in early 2011.
