Blades boss hopes duo stay on

Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson says he is still waiting on midfielders Kevin McDonald and Lee Williamson to sign new deals.

McDonald - who is out-of-contract - failed to show up for pre-season training. Wilson is also hoping another out-of-contract player, McDonald's midfield team-mate Lee Williamson, will commit to another season at Bramall Lane. "We've still got Lee Williamson and Kevin McDonald who have yet to sign and we don't know what's going to happen with those two. There's no decisions forthcoming yet. "Is Kevin McDonald going to come? I don't know. He didn't turn up for training on Monday which we expected him to do, although he is out of contract. "But Lee Williamson turned up and he's out of contract. I would have thought that Kevin would have come down and got some fitness under his belt just in case, whatever happens." Wilson added: "It's his prerogative to try and get the best deal for himself and I think his agent is doing that and has been doing that for a long time. He's still a free agent and we're pitched in there very highly."
