Happy Hawthorns memories for Blackburn boss

Blackburn boss Steve Kean is confident his side will avoid the drop this season despite Rovers slipping back into the relegation zone. Back-to-back defeats have seen Blackburn sucked back into the relegation scrap ahead of their trip to West Brom on Saturday. Rovers did the double over the Baggies last season and while a repeat of those results would boost Kean's men, the Blackburn boss is adamant that spirits are already high in the camp. "I'm very confident," said Kean. "We are not edgy, we feel as though we are in control and have enough quality. "We are training at a very high level and it is a positive atmosphere, it is not a negative one at all.

Convinced

"We are convinced we have got the players and the fixtures ahead of us that we can get ourselves out of this position we are in. "It is never nice when you slip down a couple of places but we have to focus the players on what was good in the games, and there was plenty of encouragement to take from the Manchester United game." Kean's first win as Blackburn manager came at West Brom last season but he is expecting a tough game despite Roy Hodgson's men having little to play for. He added: "We have happy memories of the Hawthorns - we won there last season and beat Liverpool at home, and there is no reason why we can't do that again. "I am sure West Brom will want to finish as high as possible and Roy will not be wanting them to take their foot off the pedal, so I don't foresee them taking it easy."
