Striker to see doctor again after requiring 20 stitches in facial injury

Cardiff are still waiting to discover how long Kenny Miller will be sidelined for after needing 20 stitches in a facial injury. The Bluebirds forward collided with team-mate Ben Turner during Saturday's 5-3 win over Barnsley and is now certain to miss Tuesday night's Carling Cup fourth round clash with Burnley. Manager Malky Mackay is also without Rudy Gestede as he works his way back to full fitness following a hamstring injury. Mackay offered his praise to the doctor who helped stem the flow of blood from the Scotland international's head and is waiting for a further update on the former Rangers hitman.

Nasty cut

"At the moment we've got Rudy Gestede and Kenny Miller who won't be available to us against Burnley," he told WalesOnline. "Kenny has a facial injury. He is seeing the doctor later today. The swelling has come down considerably but it was a nasty cut. "He had to have 20 stiches in it and that took half an hour to be done by a very good doctor who has our appreciation. It's hard to tell how long he'll be out for but Rudy will certainly be weeks rather than days. "It was a bizarre injury, how that happens I don't know. It's really unfortunate but that is the way it is."
