Striker to end Ewood Park stint by joining Dnipro

Croatia striker Nikola Kalinic is on the brink of finalising his move away from Blackburn Rovers to join Ukrainian side Dnipro. Kalinic has been trying to secure a transfer to Dnipro for the past few weeks and the paperwork on his switch is almost complete. Rovers boss Steve Kean confirmed he is expecting Kalinic to join Ipswich-bound Keith Andrews in leaving the club over the coming days. "Niko Kalinic's transfer is just about to be completed in the Ukraine," stated Kean. The 23-year-old joined Blackburn in a £6million deal from Hajduk Split two years ago, but he has struggled to make a sustained impact. Though he was Rovers' joint leading scorer in the Premier League last season with five goals in 18 appearances, he did not start a game after mid-February. In total, Kalinic scored 13 goals in 53 matches for Rovers and the recent capture of David Goodwillie has boosted Kean's options in attack.
