Danish midfielder hoping Blackburn trial pays off

Thomas Kahlenberg has revealed that he is hoping to secure a switch to the Premier League. The Wolfsburg midfielder recently underwent a one-week trial at Blackburn, in the hope of earning a permanent switch. The Denmark international hopes he did enough during his time at Ewood Park to catch the eye, with his future now in Rovers' hands. No deal can be pushed through until the end of the season, but Kahlenberg admits he would relish the opportunity to test himself in England. "It was a very positive experience at Blackburn," the 27-year-old playmaker told Onside.

Impressed

"I was impressed by everything and a move would be interesting, especially considering my situation at Wolfsburg. "Time will tell where I end up playing because I have still got a contract at Wolfsburg. "But of course I would like to play in the Premier League." Kahlenberg joined Wolfsburg on a four-year deal in 2009, but was recently suspended by the club for allegedly lacking focus.
