Brown has decision to make over midfielder's future at Deepdale

Phil Brown is weighing up whether to cut short Amine Linganzi's loan at Preston North End after the midfielder was ruled out for six weeks. Linganzi joined Preston from Blackburn Rovers earlier this month and is due to spend the rest of the season at Deepdale. However, he has undergone a hernia operation and is currently back at Blackburn to receive treatment on the problem. Lilywhites boss Brown is now deciding whether to end the loan deal so that he can bring in a replacement before the transfer window closes.

Decision to make

"Amine is being looked after by Blackburn - they are going to treat him," Brown told the Evening Post. "He had the operation yesterday, and the diagnosis beforehand was that he'll be out for between four and six weeks. "I have a decision to make once I speak to Blackburn about how the surgery went. "At the moment, we have Amine until the end of the season. Blackburn have said they would take him back. "If that happens, there would then be the opportunity of getting him again during the loan window. "First of all, I'll speak to Blackburn and see what the surgeon found. They've been very good about the whole thing."
