Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jake Kean has signed a new contract to stay with the Premier League club until 2014.
Kean joined Rovers from Derby County towards the end of the 2008/09 season and has yet to play a first-team game for the club.
However, he is currently gaining experience on loan at Hartlepool United and is delighted to have been rewarded with a new deal by Blackburn.
"It is brilliant," Kean told the club's official website. "It's a dream come true.
"I thought my first professional contract would be at Derby County, but Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League - it doesn't get much better than that."
The 19-year-old has made 14 appearances since joining Hartlepool on loan in September and he is enjoying his time with the League One club.
He added: "It is a great experience, going out and playing league games, and finding out what it's like to be a senior player in and around the first team.
"They've not got any other keepers, so I really have been thrown in at the deep end, but I'm really enjoying it."
