Dutchman fails to earn Southend deal
Maceo Rigters has failed in his efforts to land a permanent deal at League One outfit Southend.
The Dutch striker, who is currently on the books of Blackburn, recently joined the Shrimpers on a trial basis.
He featured in two pre-season fixtures for the club and had hoped to have done enough to convince Steve Tilson to offer him full-time terms.
However, the Southend boss has decided to look elsewhere for new recruits and has allowed Rigters to leave the club.
The 25-year-old forward did not make a single appearance for Blackburn last season and was loaned out to Norwich and Barnsley.
